A smooth creamy beer with hints of lemon and blackcurrant and liquorice undertones.
A giant of nineteenth century engineering and a man of towering achievement, Isambard Kingdom Brunel was also notably short, standing only a whisker over 5 feet tall. A fact that might explain his fondness for large top hats.
Despite his lack of stature, Brunel successfully wooed and wed the beautiful Mary Horsley. Whether she judged Isambard dark and handsome remains a matter of conjecture... but we like to imagine that Mary found her famous husband as companionable as this traditional ale.
